Terms of Use
Rules and conditions for using the UNLEARN website and study platform.
Effective date: August 9, 2026
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of unlearnthelies.com and related UNLEARN website features (the “Service”). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
Purpose of the Service
UNLEARN provides Bible-study, educational, ministry, community, and related informational resources. Content reflects religious study and interpretation and is offered for educational and devotional purposes. It is not legal, medical, mental-health, financial, tax, or other licensed professional advice.
Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you are under the age of legal majority where you live, you may use the Service only with permission and supervision from a parent or legal guardian. By using the Service, you represent that you meet these requirements.
Accounts and security
You are responsible for providing accurate account information, protecting your credentials, and all activity under your account. Notify us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without authorization. You may not impersonate another person, share an account in a way that compromises security, or attempt to obtain access to another user’s account.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for unlawful, fraudulent, threatening, harassing, hateful, exploitative, or abusive conduct.
- Post content that infringes intellectual-property, privacy, publicity, or other rights.
- Distribute malware, spam, deceptive links, or unauthorized advertising.
- Scrape, overload, disrupt, probe, reverse engineer, or bypass security or access controls except where applicable law expressly permits it.
- Use automated systems to access the Service in a manner that creates unreasonable load or ignores published restrictions.
- Collect or expose another person’s private information without authorization.
- Manipulate votes, engagement, analytics, or community features.
User content
You retain ownership of content you submit. By submitting content to a public or shared area, you grant UNLEARN a nonexclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, format, display, distribute, and otherwise use that content only as reasonably necessary to operate, promote, moderate, and improve the Service. This license ends when the content is deleted from our active systems, except for reasonable backup, legal, integrity, or previously shared uses.
You represent that you have the rights needed to submit your content and grant this license. You are responsible for your submissions and should not post confidential information in public areas.
Moderation
We may review, restrict, edit, refuse, preserve, or remove content and may suspend or terminate accounts when we reasonably believe content or conduct violates these Terms, threatens users or the Service, creates legal risk, or is otherwise harmful. We are not obligated to monitor every submission and do not endorse user content.
UNLEARN content and intellectual property
Except for user content and identified third-party materials, the Service’s design, software, branding, original text, graphics, and organization are owned by or licensed to UNLEARN and are protected by applicable law. You may use the Service for personal, noncommercial study. You may not reproduce, sell, republish, or commercially exploit protected material without permission or an applicable legal right.
Bible translations, lexicons, datasets, videos, quotations, and other third-party resources remain subject to their respective licenses, attribution requirements, and rights notices. Inclusion in the Service does not transfer ownership.
Copyright concerns
If you believe material on the Service infringes your copyright, email lex.meyer@unlearnthelies.com with identification of the copyrighted work, the material and its location, your contact information, a good-faith statement that the use is unauthorized, a statement under penalty of perjury that your notice is accurate and you are authorized to act, and your physical or electronic signature. We may remove or restrict material while reviewing a notice. This contact information does not represent that UNLEARN has completed registration of a designated DMCA agent.
Third-party services and links
The Service may use or link to services operated by Bluehost, Brevo, YouTube, Google, PayPal, and others. Third-party services are governed by their own terms and policies. UNLEARN does not control and is not responsible for their availability, content, security, or practices.
Support payments and subscriptions
Support payments or recurring contributions offered through third-party providers are processed under the provider’s terms. Review the amount, frequency, cancellation method, and provider terms before completing a transaction. Unless expressly stated in a written receipt, do not assume a payment is tax deductible. Contact the payment provider and UNLEARN promptly regarding billing questions.
No guarantee of accuracy or availability
We work to provide useful and accurate resources, but biblical references, transcripts, translations, automated connections, community content, and technical features may contain errors or omissions. You are responsible for examining source material and exercising your own judgment. The Service may change, experience interruptions, or be discontinued.
Disclaimer of warranties
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” UNLEARN disclaims implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and noninfringement. Nothing in these Terms excludes a warranty or right that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, UNLEARN and its operators, contributors, and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or loss of data, profits, goodwill, or use arising from the Service. UNLEARN’s aggregate liability for a claim relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid directly to UNLEARN for the Service during the 12 months before the claim or US $100. These limits do not apply where prohibited by law.
Indemnification
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless UNLEARN and its operators from third-party claims, damages, and reasonable costs arising from your unlawful use of the Service, your user content, or your material violation of these Terms.
Suspension and termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend, restrict, or terminate access when reasonably necessary to protect the Service, enforce these Terms, comply with law, or address risk or abuse. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will survive, including ownership, disclaimers, liability limits, and dispute provisions.
Changes to the Service or Terms
We may update the Service and these Terms. Revised Terms will be posted with a new effective date. When required, we will provide additional notice. Continued use after revised Terms take effect means you accept them.
Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by applicable United States law and the laws of the state in which UNLEARN’s operator is principally located, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Before filing a formal claim, you agree to contact us and make a good-faith effort to resolve the issue informally. Nothing in these Terms limits rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be waived.
General terms
If a provision is found unenforceable, it will be modified only as much as necessary and the remaining provisions will continue. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not transfer your rights under these Terms without our consent; we may transfer these Terms as part of an organizational or Service transfer.
