till A. D. 33, John xi, 16; xiv, 5, 6; xx, 24–29; xxi, 1–13. Ancient
tradition says, that in the distribution which the Apostles made of the
several parts of the world, wherein they were to preach the Gospel, the
country of the Parthians fell to the share of St. Thomas. It is added,
that he preached to the Medes, Persians, Carmanians, Hircanians,
Bactrians, &c. Several of the fathers inform us that he also preached in
the East Indies, &c.
